In May 2023 hundreds of top-tier AI scientists and tech CEOs warned about extinction-level dangers to the human species from advanced AI – but almost nobody took this warning seriously.
“An Inconvenient Doom” navigates and explains the complex reasons for a likely existential threat from future AI systems, tells the stories of the experts and activists with their emotional pleas to humanity and explores why journalists, politicians and society might not react in time to avoid catastrophe.
Production
„An Inconvenient Doom“ is produced by Look Up Films and aims for maximum impact. Therefore the project aims to provide a proper explanation in laymen’s terms why this is not sci-fi, raise awareness and start a global discussion about AI safety.
The project has been accepted to the Documentary Campus Masterschool 2024 incubator program where it will receive coaching and mentoring by international experts with regards to impact campaigning, audience design, festival strategy and many more topics that will help it maximise its impact on the discussion.
